The problem

Stockist acquisition is expensive and slow.

Most brands end up choosing between three bad options.

Wholesale marketplaces

15% commission. Forever.

The major wholesale marketplaces charge 25% on a retailer's first order, then 15% on every reorder with no end date. Every year your stockist base grows, so does the commission bill.

Trade shows

£6–7k a show. Uncertain yield.

A trade show stand, travel, displays, and accommodation add up fast. First-time exhibitors often describe it as "roughly break-even." That's a big upfront bet on uncertain results.

Doing it yourself

No time. No system. No list.

Outreach requires a curated retailer list, a warmed sending domain, a personalised sequence, and someone managing replies every day. Most founders never get started.

How it works

Three steps. Then warm leads arrive in your inbox.

01
We build your retailer list

We curate 100–150 independent UK retailers that fit your brand — by category, retailer type, and geography. You review and approve the list before a single email goes out.

02
We reach out in your name

Every email is personalised to the specific shop — its name, what it stocks, and why your products are a fit. Sent from your own domain, on a subdomain we set up and run. Retailers see a genuine address at your brand, not ours.

03
Warm leads come to you

When a retailer replies with interest, we draft the response in your brand's voice and hand you the lead with the draft attached. You approve, it sends, and you talk to a buyer who already wants to talk. The relationship — and the margin — is entirely yours.

What you get

Everything handled. Your only job is closing.

We run the entire outreach operation. You respond to warm leads and take orders. That's it.

Each retailer receives a sequence referencing their specific shop — not a mail merge
Sending from your own domain
We run a subdomain of your domain — your real inboxes are never touched or seen
Warm leads handed over with a drafted reply
Interested replies drafted in your brand's voice, ready for you to approve and send
Monthly performance report
Open rates, reply rates, leads generated, and retailers queued for next month
The ROI

Less than one trade show. No ongoing commission.

Compare what brands typically spend to acquire stockists against a 3-month GetStockists engagement.

Channel Upfront cost Ongoing cost You own the relationship?
Wholesale marketplace Free 15% on every reorder, forever No — platform dependent
Trade show (Top Drawer etc.) £6,000–£7,000 £0 Yes
Freelance sales rep £0–£2,000/mo retainer 8–15% commission, often ongoing Partial
Sales consultant (2 days/week) £2,000–£6,800/mo £0 Yes
GetStockists (3 months) £1,500 total £0 commission Yes — always
Break-even

A typical independent stockist places an opening order of ~£250 and reorders 2–3 times a year. At 40% gross margin, that's roughly £300 gross profit per stockist in year one.

A 3-month engagement costs £1,500. You break even at 5 stockists in year one. Every one beyond that is pure margin — with no commission deducted, ever.

Pricing

One plan. No surprises.

No commission. No setup fee. No lock-in beyond the initial 3-month term. Cancel after that if it isn't working — but you'll keep every stockist relationship you've built.

A freelance sales consultant costs £250–£850 per day. Two days a week runs to £2,000–£6,800/month — with no dedicated system, no list, and no guaranteed output. GetStockists delivers a structured outreach operation for a quarter of that.

Common questions

Answered honestly.

How many warm leads should I expect? +

At 100–150 personalised contacts per month, you should expect 1–3 warm leads — retailers who have replied expressing interest. Over a 3-month engagement that's roughly 3–9 total. We'd rather quote you the honest range than the flattering one. These aren't guaranteed conversions; they're interested buyers ready to hear more from you directly.

I already use a wholesale marketplace. Does this still make sense? +

Yes. Most marketplaces have a "direct" route where brands bring their own retailers at 0% commission. We fill that pipeline. You keep using the marketplace's ordering system if you want; you just stop paying commission on the stockists we introduce. The relationship is yours either way.

When does outreach actually start? +

Sending begins inside your first month. You paste three DNS records delegating a subdomain of your domain — outreach.yourbrand.co.uk — to infrastructure we run. While it warms over weeks 1–2 you receive your retailer research brief and a domain audit, so there is visible work from week one. Sending starts in weeks 3–4 at 10–12 a day, which still clears the full monthly quota within month one. If you already run Google Workspace and want day-one sending, you can instead create a dedicated wholesale@ mailbox on your main domain and connect it — an aged domain needs no warmup.

How personalised is "personalised"? +

Each email references the specific shop — its name, what it currently stocks, and why your products are a genuine fit. It's not a mail merge template. Retailers spend about 30 seconds on a cold email; a generic blast gets deleted immediately. Specificity is what gets replies.

What do I actually need to do? +

Paste three DNS records (about ten minutes, or lend us registrar access and we'll do it), complete a short brand brief, and approve the retailer list before we send. After that, your only job is approving the reply drafts we hand you. We handle everything else.

Is cold email legal in the UK? +

Yes, when it is done to corporate subscribers. UK PECR permits cold B2B email to limited companies and LLPs without prior consent — but not to sole traders. So every list is built from Companies House first, and anything we cannot match to an active limited company or LLP is discarded. Every email carries your registered company name and address, a one-click opt-out, and clear identification of why the shop was contacted. We maintain a suppression list, and you sign a data processing agreement before we begin.
